The XU1-E of the PROFESSIONAL LINE is a digital relay for earth fault detection in isolated and resistively earthed medium voltage systems. Digital filters ensure a suppression of harmonics.
The relay can be connected to the open e-n winding of the voltage transformer.Unit XU1-E has a single step earth fault voltage supervision. The noise signals caused by inductive and capacitive coupling are supressed by an analog RC filter circuit.

Relay XP2-R of the PROFESSIONAL LINE is a digital relay for reverse power detection of gensets in parallel and active power supervision of power systems.
For generators operating in parallel with a mains or another generator, it is imperative to supervise the power direction. If for example the prime mover fails the alternator operates as a motor and drives the prime mover (diesel or turbine). The XP2-R detects the reverse of the power direction and in case of this error switches off the alternator. This way, power losses and damages of the prime mover are avoided.

XI1-S-1
The XI1-S of the PROFESSIONAL LINE is an all-purpose protection against earth faults, used for electrical machines, lines and networks with solidly earthed or resistance-earthed neutral; it is mainly used in radial networks. Very often the XI1-S can be found as backup protection at the central earthing point of the system. It detects all earth faults occuring in the system. In this case the trip delay selected must exceed the longest time delay setting of any other earthing protection used in the system.

Application
Reverse Power detection of genset in parallel.
Function
The unit BP1-R is equipped with a reverse power supervision {PR>} with infinitely adjustable pickup value and time delay.
The reverse power measured is constantly compared with the set reference values. If the reverse power exceeds the set reference value the relay trips after of the times delay has elapsed.
The relay functions will be activated from 70% Un.

The synchronizer unit SY1 is supplied from one phase of each system. The unit compares the two frequencies, the difference in voltage and measures the phase coincidence and gives led impulse to close the alternator circuit breaker.

Unit SY/SP N is used to prevent wrong synchronization of Alternators at manual operation e.g. by unskilled personnel.
To prevent high current and mechanical stresses at paralleling the following conditions must be fulfilled before switching in parallel:• Voltage difference
• Frequency difference
• Phase angle must be inside limitsSynchronizing check relay SY/SP N monitors these values and provides closure of contact 4 – 12 if these are inside preset limits.

During parallel operation of a generator with a grid or with another generating system, it is necessary to supervise the power direction. Should, for instance, the driving unit fail, the generator acts as a motor by taking power from the grid and driving the unit. The reverse power relay RW N 1 detects the reversal of power direction and disconnects the generator in case of fault. By this power losses as well as dangerous conditions for the driving unit are prevented.
The unit RW N 1 is also suitable as a minimum load monitor.
Two variants of the appliance are available.
Type RW N 1-10 is used in low tension installations and type RW N 1-12 in medium tension installations.

Current Sensing are given an output contact when the current flow rise above the pread justed limit. The time lag between measuring the over current and giving the output contact is independent on the percentage of over current. Independent current relays are normaly used for selective triping. The other current relays are operating dependent on percentage of overcurrent, like thermal or inverse current relay.
Function and Adjustment
Independent current relay IWU N and IWK N consisting of: one electronic current measuring circuit (resp. 3 circuits withindex IW. 2/3) as well as one lag circuit for the switching delay. A led indicates the position of the adjusted limit.

When using unit DU2 with the additional module DX automatic starts and stops of engines are possible.
Module DX receives, for instance, the external start signal from a voltage supervision unit that notices an undervoltage. After reaching the rated voltage a again, the engine is stopped automatically.
At any time, module DX can easily be retrofitted for such automatic starts
